RE-SIGNED: Matt Cullen with Hurricanes

"Matt is a big centerman who adds a playmaking element to our forward lines," said Rutherford. "We feel he is a valuable addition to our core group of young forwards."

Best of luck to Matt in Carolina.

Everyone keeps referring to Matt as BIG. I do not think he plays his size very well at all.

He bulked up a bit during the 02-03 season.

Good sign for the 'Canes. Now they have:

Gerber
Whitney
Cullen
Tverdovsky
Wesley
Rod Bbrindamour <----- not sure if he's there at all
Corry Stillmann

Not bad. hmm.gif

Gerber wants to be a starter. He can't be that in Anaheim as long as JS is around.

He doesn't have Mike Keenan breathing down his back. I think that would be nerve wrecking for anyone.

I remember why he left, but he's not the starter there either! wink.gif Depending on how Jiggy does, it could well happen here.

biggrin.gif Good for Cullen. Gerber should feel right at home with all the ex-Ducks there now.

If Gerber is not the starter, who is?? Weekes was #1 but he's gone, Archie is gone, who is left? ohmy.gif

Sorry, my mistake, as I thought Weekes was still there, not that I keep up on Carolina! I just checked the roster, and it looks like he's it. I have no doubt that Gerber is up for the challenge and will do great!

Since I am one of his biggest fans, I wanted to start a thread here.

Currently Cullen is on a tear with assists in Carolina. Amazing what one Stanley Cup will do to you!

Love Cullen. Really wish he would've come back. I loved seeing him in a Mighty Ducks jersey.
