Emerson Etem felt like a jaywalker, stepping left, bolting right and hitting the brakes in his Vans sneakers and fresh-from-the-embroiderer black Ducks No. 65 sweater.

The second of the Ducks' two first-round selections in June's NHL draft, Etem couldn't believe the heavy, oncoming traffic of bulky padded-wide kids and stick-wielding teens rolling through The Rinks – Huntington Beach Inline last week at the 2010 AAU Inline Hockey Junior Olympics.

Emerson Etem, the Ducks first-round selection (29th overall) in June's NHL draft, stood beside a menacing, 10-foot tall Baby T. Rex of the arena show, "Walking with Dinosaurs." The giant reptile attempted to terrorize Etem, growling with its sharp teeth and whipping its meaty tail aggressively at the baby Ducks, who was unexpectedly forced to duck and dodge. "That was strange," said Etem, who had been expecting to smile for a photo op not survive an animal attack.
