Since we're in the dog days of summer I thought it might be fun to talk about which players, either current or from the past, you would put on your All-Time Ducks team. The only requirement is that the player have played in at least one regular season game for the Ducks. We will also consider the time the player was with the Ducks, not their prime, so please keep that in mind when deciding whether or not to include Jari Kurri, Adam Oates, etc. Since it's my idea I'll go first:

#1 - Kariya/Getzlaf/Selanne
#2 - Ryan/McDonald/Perry
#3 - Kunitz/Rucchin/Sacco
#4 - Moen/Pahlsson/Niedermayer

D1 - Niedermayer/Pronger
D2 - Salei/O'Donnell
D3 - Dollas/Ozolinsh

G - Giguere/Hebert

I'll have to agree for the most part. But I'll make a couple tweaks.

#1 - Kariya/McDonald/Selanne
#2 - Ryan/Getzlaf/Perry
#3 - Kunitz/Rucchin/Lupul
#4 - Moen/Pahlsson/Niedermayer

D1 - Niedermayer/Pronger
D2 - Salei/O'Donnell
D3 - Beauchemin/Ozolinsh

G - Giguere/Bryzgalov

I switched out Andy and Getzy. They just have more chemistry this way. Plus it's my dream to see that first line. I put Lupes in to replace Sacco. Sacco has scored more goals than Lupul as a duck, as well as spent more time as a Duck in the NHL. But Lupul had that 30 goal season in 05/06, and that one four goal game in the playoffs with him scoring in overtime was unreal. I'd swtich out Kuni for Sacco, but I like to keep the players in their natural positions. I traded Dollas for Beauchemin. I just think Franky needs to be in there, in real life and fantasy. And finally I put Bryz in to replace Hebert. I don't dislike Hebert, I just like Bryz more. I actually feel bad for some of these changes. Especially taking out Hebert. He was THE goalie back in the day.

I'll agree with Beauchemin in at D, but I dont think Lupul would make my cut for the All Ducks team

Kariya - Getzlaf - Selanne
Ryan - McDonald - Perry
Kunitz - Rucchin - Sykora
Cullen - Pahlsson - R. Niedermayer

Pronger - S. Niedermayer
Tverdovsky - Beauchemin
Havelid - Salei

Giguere
Hebert

HM: Moen, Sacco, Lupul, Carney, Leclerc (probably forgot someone)...

Fedorov, Oates, Ozolinsh etc etc just didn't play enough games to make my all time team. Visnovsky should be in there in the future...

I didn't forget about him. He was good but I like my defense better. I think Giguere & Hebert would as well. wink.gif

Speaking of honorable mentions. If I had one, it would be Todd Marchant. Only because he would never make the team on skill. But he's got more heart than most teams have.

Okay, lets talk captains. No doubt Teemu deserves the "C". He wouldn't accept it though. Rim_Shot.gif

I would have either Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Steve Rucchin or Bobby Dollas as the captain. All were captains of the Ducks at one time or another and all were great leaders on and off the ice.

Jerky makes your team! Love it. I liked that guy a lot when he was on the Ducks. The guys that were tough for me to leave off were Steve Thomas, Sergei Fedorov, Brad May, Keith Carney and Petr Sykora.

Yeah Babcock was a great coach, and he's done very well in Detroit too. I was going to pick him but he only was around for 2 years and he only had 1 winning season, which isn't his fault though because the team wasn't too good. I picked Carlyle because he has Longevity. (sp?)

But how does Rucchin get the C?!?

Niedermayer was the best Captain this team ever had. He seems like a no-brainer to have the C on an All-Ducks team.

My All-Ducks team wouldn't be about chemistry, but about skill. That's how they put together NHL All-Star teams, so that's how I would put together this one. Otherwise, why would Pronger and Niedermayer be together on the same pairing?

Kariya - Getzlaf - Selanne
Ryan - AMac - Perry
Kunitz - Rucchin - Sacco
Moen - Pahlsson - Niedermayer

Niedermayer - Pronger
Salei - O'Donnell
Dollas - Beauchemin

Giguere - Hebert

C - Niedermayer
A - Rucchin
A - Dollas

HM to Kariya, but I feel Rucchin and Dollas were better leaders and deserve the A over him.

Length of time is a factor in this. A few years from now it might be Hiller instead of Hebert, but Hiller hasn't been on the team long enough, and I don't think Bryz -was- on the team long enough, nor do I consider him better than Hebert when he was.

But you still have Niedermayer, who Captained Anaheim to a Cup, and was sporting the C during Anaheim's best times in their history.

I just don't see how anyone other than Niedermayer deserves the C on an All-Ducks team.

True, now that i think about it, Scotty's jersey did look really strange the year he came back when Prongs was C, he does need the C on there

C- Scotty
A Rooch
A- Prongs
