Anaheim still is seeking a top-four defenseman with some experience. Syvret is not that defenseman, although the Syracuse Crunch, the Ducks' new AHL affiliate, certainly would benefit from his addition.

Judging by his participation in the recent Special Olympics ceremonies in London, he seems to be a good guy, too.
