From Syracuse.com.

In a fan poll on Kramer's blog Di Penta was a runaway winner with 84 votes for the "C".

I honestly wasn't aware DiPenta was in our system. Why can't we recall him to the Ducks and try to damage control our abortion of a defense?

DiPenta is only signed to an AHL contract.

Also worth noting that Anaheim is fairly close to the 50 NHL-contract limit.
I don't know right off if they are at the limit, but like I said, they're close (especially if Fowler sticks).
That makes it hard to sign DiPenta to an NHL deal, even if they would like to.

By my count, assuming Holland and Bobkov don't count since they are on their Junior teams*, we are at 49 contracts in effect.

*(A good assumption since 1) I found it in the CBA, and 2) We would be OVER if they did count)

Added: Scratch that....With Lilja's contract, we are at 50 contracts in effect(!)

So... We can't sign any more players? Great...
