"There is evidence that if the NHL doesn't negotiate a new collective-bargaining agreement with the players, the league will unilaterally implement a deal with a salary cap next fall and open camps with replacement - scab - players."

Let's hope it doesn't come to that. dry.gif

Which vote counts more?

Incredibly, the NHLPA has called a meeting of all 30 player reps in Toronto on Election Day, which means some of them probably are flying in from the United States. Why would the union schedule a meeting on such an important day in the United States? Can you imagine the outcry from Canadian journalists had something like this been done on a key election day in Canada? It's possible some reps won't get back in time to vote. "The NHLPA has scheduled a meeting with all player representatives on Nov. 2 in Toronto as part of our ongoing information updates during the owners' lockout. American players who choose to attend the meetings will vote after the meeting, or before via absentee ballot," Saskin said when asked about why he chose Election Day.

Im sorry...but this bit of the article totally ruined all credibility the journalist had with me...
You can vote early at your local court house...I did it because IM out of the state going to school...

Oh..and how many of those 30 players are from the States anyway...

and how is this any differnt that anyother job anyof us might have that scheduled a meeting on Nov 2?...I have an exam on tuesday and I didnt bring up the election to get it moved...

Sorry...this just really rubbed me the wrong way blink.gif

crazy.gif Let's hope there is some way to get rid of Bettman or we all will be picking scabs off our backs....it's easy for some writer to want people to speak out against Buttman and open themselves to a $250,000 fine.....are we not in this situation because the teams have lost so much money??? Why on god's green earth would anyone want to give away $250,000 ????Like it would change anything???

I love scabs. I go out of my way to cross union picket lines. I'd watch them and love them for it.
