Required reading for those stubborn mules in the league and players' union offices ...

There is no doubt in my mind that most NHL owners and NHL players discount the efforts and passion of the NHL fan to a large and, for me, insulting degree. That was the catalyst in giving you a place to voice your love of the game and remind them of your value and passion.

Good article. Buccigross is correct as far as the fans go, but I doubt the clubs see it the same way.

dribble.gif First the hockey fans get shafted by ESPN and we seldom saw Bucci, then we got the shaft from the NHL and players union....man, those shafts are starting to bring on the pain....who else is going to shaft us????

If only the league read those memories and how much hockey means to the fans then maybe, maybe they would understand that this sport is more than the players and more than money, etc. sad.gif

If you mean by "league" both the owners and the players, then yes, hockey is much more than money. Old-time hockey has an aura that needs to be carried through the generations.

If Bucci has tons of these perhaps he can compile them into on of those "Chicken soup for the hockey fan's soul" books. I particularly like the guy who said that when a hockey player scores he almost always points to his teammates to give credit. Its a "team" game and if you need any further reminder, replay the quest for the cup that the Ducks went on in the spring of 2003. That was the ultimate for me but even as a true blue fan when they weren't so great (see Hartsburg years) I loved the game and this team. Its hanging in during the lean years that demonstrates a love for the game itself. Its just hard to describe to those who don't want to consider hockey as a passion, but once you understand this game for all the different things it brings to a fan, you're hooked.

I really miss my hockey games. I can't believe how its changed my life this year with no season. I have a very nice life...but I still miss my hockey.
