"I believe that tickets for the first game after the lockout should be free. The players will give up their pay for the first game back. The owners will provide a high-quality item as a giveaway. The players will come out for the warm-up and give the fans a standing ovation around the ice and they all will throw autographed team jerseys, provided by the owners, into the stands."

Boy do I second that motion!

I always love reading Bucci's article because he has wonderful ideas like that one. The players and the owners have done wrong against the fans and should treat them well when the season gets under way; if there was no fans there wouldn't be sports cars and million dollar mansions for anyone. ana-ban.gif

I just hope if the League starts up again? That the fans show up in force holding signs saying REMEMBER US. Stand for your respective anthems & then turn there backs for the first period in silence. Are mill around wasting time. Second & Third period,Overtime scream your friggin' heads off. And as the players leave the ice. No applause, They did'nt appreciate you the fan, why show your appreciation to them. Next game back to normal. Let bygones be bygones.

Or better yet, BOYCOTT the first game back. Let 'em play to an empty stadium.

That would make an impact. After all what statement do fans make? Once the lockout is over we're back cheering. Why not telling them how we really feel?

Yeah, I know it won't happen, but it would be great. protest.gif

I'm considering trying to get the rest of my money back should the season restart, but I'll probably have to go to the games remaining in my ice pack anyway.

I say I'm mad, but I know Iwill go. This may be my last year as a full season ticket holder, then only go to maybe 10-20 games per year. The drive in baaad SoCal traffic really gets to me. So, I have enjoyed NOT having that.

It probably takes you as long to get through the SoCal traffic as it does for me to drive from Seattle to Vancouver for my hockey fix! blink.gif
I don't miss that drive at all, not to mention the wait at the border. dozingoff.gif

mad.gif And there is no good direct way to get from south O.C. to Anaheim. During the SC playoffs I had go straight from work in Irvine and usually went up Jamboree to the 5 because I tried the 55 ONCE---boy was that a mistake.

Los Angeles heads the list of most congested cities in the study. The average 25-minute commute in Los Angeles stretches to 43 minutes during periods of congestion, meaning drivers spend about 90 hours a year stuck in traffic. Next, in order, are San Francisco, Denver, Miami, Chicago and Phoenix.

Sorry, my caps were on. I'm not really shouting.

Yeah, I wish I could take the tollroad. But from Newport, I go up the 55 to the 5 to the 57. Yuckie! heheheheheheh

Wednesdays were always the worst day. Fridays were okay. I guess people would leave work early, who travel out the 55, etc.

Francaise:

smile.gif We very well could have bumped into each other at the Pond and not even known that we had!

I don't go to as many games as I used to though. My family had season tickets from the inaugural season through 2000-01 in section 210, row E, which we shared. Then I bought a house and was putting money into improving it so I didn't have a lot of extra money and other people in my family decided not to renew the season tickets for a variety of reasons. The next couple of years we only bought a mini-plan and sat in the Club level (section 216, row C, I think, right above the Zamboni entrance). Last season I only went to about 10 games. My husband and I would like to start a family soon, so we probably won't be going too many games for a couple of years (but who knows, maybe by the time the lockout ends.... wink.gif )

I don't usually go straight to the games from Irvine, but I had to do that during the SC playoffs because of some of the early start times. It was weird driving alone to the games and meeting everyone else at the Pond. And to top it off I had knee surgery that spring and was hobbling around the Pond on crutches sad.gif

Just Duckie...yeegads, hobbling on crutches no less. Well, I DO hope we get to meet sometime. I think sometime, we (who live in the OC near the Pond area) should get together. Some of you I am sure do. But I think it would be fun. I do know some of the people who post here, if not personally, but by Mallard pointing them out to me at the Pond. OOOOO, good luck with your family. How cool. :>)
