I've just read that Sergei Fedorov might join Kazan Ak Bars of the Superleague. In fact, Ak Bars is the most active club in the talks with Fedorov's agent right now.

The rumor comes from Sport Express, the same newspaper that predicted that Khabibulin, Kovalev, Richards and Lecavalier would play for Kazan.

Sport Express has been reporting that for like... a year now, haven't they?

According to Fedor, Sergei won't be spending anytime in Russia this year - his insurance w/ the Ducks won't permit it and he "needed the break anyway"

Absolutely not, it was Sovetsky Sport that was saying that Avangard Omsk had an interest in Fedorov, and he later admitted having received an offer from them, which he turned down.

But Sport Express didn't say anything until now, and as I mentionned, they had published similar "rumors" regarding all the other stars playing for Ak Bars.

We'll see.

As you all know, Ak Bars acquired Dany Heatley ... well, Ravil Shaleev, the club's vice president, also said "I would like to point out that at least one other famous Russian player will appear on the team".

There's not many such players left without a contract ... Mogilny, Zubov, Malakhov, Yashin, Mironov and of course Fedorov!

Hey wilka, is there anyway you could post a link to that article in SE? Cuz I was reading it this morning, and noticed that they said *Fedor* Fedorov might be on his way to Kazan, but couldn't find anything on big brother.

Thanks smile.gif

Fedor Fedorov was in fact expected to be picked up by Kazan (and ended up with Magnitogorsk). But it has nothing to do with that other article about Sergei ... and I'm too lazy to find it again, sorry. sad.gif

No, it turns out it is Slava Kozlov.

Yashin will play in Yaroslavl.
