"We can't let this thing die when we're so close," said one team executive. "We've come this far, it would be insane to lose the season over a relatively small gap."

Hey quacksmeup...maybe that's why the res are giving you conflicting stories on a refund. heheheheheheeh
I'm so confused:
Do I wash and iron my Jiggy jersey to wear to games? Do I throw it in the hamper to be washed at a later date?
Do I go to the atm and get parking $$$? Do I save my $$$ for dinners with caylismom?
Do I brush up on my hockey stats? Do I buy a new book to read on hockeyless nights?
Do I get excited that I may see hockey? Do I cry, yell, and throw my tantrum because I can't see hockey?
Do I tell you all "See I knew it! I knew it! I believed it with all my heart!"? Or do I slink away into the shadows and cede defeat?
Decisions, decisions. Hockey dudes, you're killing me here! Not to mention everyone else on the hockey planet.

Stop the emotional roller coaster!!
Damn right H2K!
I've already exited the ride ... There ain't going to be a 2004-5 NHL season or playoffs. Even if they somehow pull a miracle and come to an agreement, whatever games may be played aren't going to count toward anything in my record book.

It's also interesting that they've gone behind Bettman's back to make a deal showing that his credibility is unexistent.

It's called co-dependency and it's mostly exhibited by abuse victims.

"Suggestions that a deal has been reached to end the NHL lockout are at best premature and and worst dead wrong, multiple sources have told TSN."

However, with these clowns one never knows. Let's wait and see what happens. At least they're talking, which is more than they wanted on Wednesday when they said no talks would take place before the summer.

I'm off this roller coaster ride, and just sitting on the park bench watching. I paid my admission fee and was even earning interest on it. If any remaining 2004-5 rides are opened, I'll certainly get in line and take as much advantage of the incentives that will be offered, but I refuse to get excited or credit any legitimacy to them.
It's excellent that the two sides are meeting today, and maybe there will be some progress made. But even if they come out empty-handed, the fact that something happened before summer shows a pinpoint of light at the end of the tunnel. Gretzky, Lemieux and Gartner stand a much better chance at gathering up the rays of light than Bettman and Goodenow ever did.

Tony Lydman did not play for HIFK tonight. Jarkko Ruutu played.
Comments:
Riku Hahl (Avalanche/HPK): "As far as I know the deal is done."
Ville Nieminen (Flames/Tappara): "It is so sure that I will fly back (to America) on tuesday."
Jarkko Ruutu (Canucks/HIFK): "The news have reached HIFK camp."
Aki Berg (Maple Leafs/Timrå) did not travel with his Swedish team to the road game, Miikka Kiprusoff (Flames/Timrå) travelled, but will not play...
Kimmo Timonen (Predators/KalPa), Adam Hall (Predators/KalPa) and Sami Kapanen (Flyers/KalPa) were not in line up tonight.

"Just three days after cancelling the 2004-2005 season, both the NHL and NHL Players' Association met in New York for 6 1/2 hours in an effort to table a new collective bargaining agreement and perhaps save the season - again. TSN's Bob McKenzie reports that no progress and no deal have materialized yet, while no further talks are scheduled at this point.
A source close to the talks said that despite the presence of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, the situation was ''not good''.
