Babcock's contract runs out in June. Should the Ducks retain his coaching services by renewing his contract? Although a no-brainer for many, maybe you have a different opinion.

I voted yes. I think he deserves at least another year or two. I am not as convinced as many that he is "the one" that can get the Ducks to the Stanley Cup, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. smile.gif

I say maybe. Part of me wants to keep him. He's done a good job so far. But if they were to replace him I would like to know who the possible replacments would be. I mean if they could lure Scotty Bowman out of retirement (not likely) I'd say see you later Mikey.

No way. Mikey's defense first gay boring system will not work in the future NHL.

ana-ban.gif I voted yes, let's keep him. If the NHL changes the way the game is to be played, Babs will adjust, trust me.

He isn't stupid and D first was the way that most teams played the game and the only way to beat them.

He has earned the right to have another contract IMHO...... biggrin.gif

So you don't think there's any chance he could adjust to the new NHL? Who would you like to get, since every coach in the league other than John Tortorella coaches with a "gay boring system"?

Babcock has been a winner everywhere he's gone and got the Mighty Ducks to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals! How anyone could want to get rid of him less than 24 months after that is beyond me.

I agree, like many of you, that we should keep Babs. I'm definitely convinced that he has done the best things for the Ducks so far and will continue to do so. I believe in his coaching methods and believe he can take the Ducks to bigger and better places. smile.gif ana-ban.gif

Definately yes, Babcock is the best coach we have had in a long time. All of the coaches are going to have to adapt to the new NHL, I don't see why Babcock will fare any worse than the rest of them. I say keep him, establish some routine within the system and hopefully the team will get back on track for the next season.

We don't know what the NHL will look like after the lockout. Mike B. took the Ducks to the SCFs that should give him enough capital to last at least one more year.

I didn't vote. I could go either way, and will respect whatever decision is made. I thought Ron Wilson wsn't too shabby, so "best" coach I don't know. Our whole trip to the Stanley Cup had many variables. Could it happen again? Maybe yes, maybe not. I'd rather have hockey before I have to worry about anything else.
