Cam Neely is in.

After six years of waiting, the former Boston Bruins forward has finally been chosen for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
...
Also inducted is former Hockey Canada head Murry Costello and the late Valeri Kharlamov. More to follow.

"You didn't know whether he was going to score on you and make you look bad or run you into the end boards to make you look bad. That's a pretty powerful combination."

"I can't quite fathom just yet what this means to myself and to all the great players I played with," said Neely, whose No. 8 was retired by the Bruins on Jan. 12, 2004.

I'll but Buccigross is thrilled - he's always been a big Neely advocate.

You're quite right there MrsB!

Cam Neely  – Neely is clearly the biggest impact player not in the Hall of Fame.
...
Neely as a Hall of Famer is an absolute no-brainer. He is the best forward of all of the players eligible for the Hall of Fame. Any era, any team, he would have been a player.

And a great interview quote in the same article:
QUOTE
3. If your 5-year-old son Jack said to you, "Daddy, will you take a picture of the Stanley Cup with me?," what would you say to him?

Neely: Ummm, that's a good question. When Ray Bourque won the Cup in Colorado, he had a party back at his house when he had his day with the Cup. It was very difficult for me. At one point, he wanted to take a picture with the Cup and a bunch of the guys that he played with on the Bruins. I hid in the deepest, darkest corner of the picture behind a potted plant. It's just one of those hockey "traditions" that players have so much respect for the price one pays to win a Stanley Cup, that we don't touch it or take a picture of it, unless we've won one.

Hey Ahti...don't knock Neely! He and Kharlamov were both great players. It's so tragic what happened to Valeri and his wife...and his son was only 5 years old at the time. no.gif

Neely, who cares? Yikes, that's harsh. Lots and lots of people like Neely. Actually, I wasn't sure he'd ever make it, since his playing was cut short.......

The Tour is part of this year's Hall of Fame induction festivities. Kharlamov will be posthumously inducted Nov. 7 along with former Boston Bruins great Cam Neely and longtime amateur hockey executive Murray Costello.

"I think we all did things in that series that we usually would have never done because it was such an emotional series," Ellis, now the director of public affairs for the Hall, said Wednesday.

Henderson underlined that emotion when he cracked a comment Yakushev's way while being presented at Wednesday's news conference.

"It's nice to see you and not hate your guts for once," Henderson said to a room full of laughter.

Yakushev still angry at Clarke for two-handed slash on Kharlamov

"Aside from winning the Cup this has to be the pinnacle for any player or athlete to be honored this way and put in the Hall of Fame," Neely said.

"I never really thought about this as a player and kind of just did my job and went out to play but you do think about it once you retire and you hear people start mentioning your name as a candidate. But there was really nothing I could do because it was out of my control."
