According to a report in the East Valley Tribune, the National Hockey League could skip the 2006 NHL All-Star Game.

NHL sources confirmed to the paper that, if the league sends players to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy, then the league would likely cancel the All-Star game.

Uh, so when did All-Star weekend get away from being a fan-fest?? The NHL wants to attract fans back to the "Coolest Game on Ice" and so it's going to take away the fans being able to vote their favorite players into a highly publicized, media friendly event? What dimwits are running this league anyway? Oh, nevermind, we already have had a year of evidence answering that question.
