Depends on the work they do... They could be very good, but also... Entirely in their hands.
Their division rivals:
Florida - Luongo, Bowmeester, Jokinen, Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Gelinas...
Tampa Bay - Lecavalier, St.Louis, Modin, Boyle, Fedotenko...
Carolina - Gerber, Tverdovsky (
Atlanta - Kovalchuk, Heatley, Lehtonen, Holik, Kozlov, Stefan...
Ovechkin alonse and even with Semin is not an answer...

Done.
If Carolina would get Teemu & Paul (they have some cap room left!), they could officially name their team to "Ex Ducks".

"The Washington Capitals have signed forward Alexander Ovechkin to a three year deal. Financial terms were not announced, but Ovechkin's annual salary in this entry-level contract can't exceed $984,200 US based on the league's new collective bargaining agreement."

"I would like to thank George McPhee and the entire organization for their support. I will work very hard to put the team first always and make the fans happy."
Ovechkin and his parents hope to relocate from Moscow to the Washington area sometime in the next two weeks.

"Many of you who have come to know me during the past six years realize that I really want you to love the Capitals and that I want you to like me as an owner," Leonsis wrote. "Admittedly, in the past I did some things as a result of listening to our fans, and out of that desire to be popular, it really would be easy right now to sign some of those big-name free agents to get you off my back.
"But I'm now more experienced, and I believe the new system creates a real opportunity for our team to build the right way. I'm willing to take short-term pain for the long-term gain."

Semin, meantime, still has one year of active military duty left to serve in Russia, according to Goryachkin.
...
"He was drafted [last year] into the military district where Lada is located," Goryachkin wrote in an e-mail yesterday. "Lada contacted the local military authorities and persuaded them to allow Semin to play for them instead of going into active duty. He cannot play for any other team in Russia and he cannot leave the country without permission or he will become a deserter and subject to criminal prosecution."

Also listed on the roster posted on the Caps' Web site is left wing Alexander Ovechkin, who has come to terms with the team on a three-year contract. But the 19-year-old is still in his native Russia and has not signed the deal. He is scheduled to make $1.3?million in salary and rookie bonus this season; another $2.7?million in salary cap space has been reserved for possible incentives.
