That's the exact right decision. Good for Bertuzzi, the Canucks and the NHL.

is he a free agent? I thought Burke was trying to sign him.

Nope, he's under contract for another year (or two? Can't remember...), Burke would have to trade for him.

At least the Canucks will have one line this season....

No longer can the Canucks blame the NHL's lack of action for their own lack of action. Now they know that Bertuzzi will be available on opening night and they can fill out the rest of their roster accordingly.

I think the penalty was too light and that he should have served more time (another 20 games) this year.

On the Avs board they are not happy about this (obviously) people are saying that someone should break Bertuzzi's neck and others want revenge on him. Its sooo dumb. Ok I'm not supporting Bertuzzi's actions but at the end of the day its a fight between him,Steve Moore and Moore's legal team not the players on each team. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, now the Canucks are free to sign....Richard Park! rolleyes.gif

I will probably try to avoid Canucks/Avs games this year. A couple of years ago I saw a pretty bad brawl between fans of the two teams outside GM Place, so I can only imagine what it will be like now...

sad.gif I'd like to say that the soap opera is over, but I fear only chapter one is. There will a lot more coming up this season. It sure will be interesting to see the reception Bertuzzi gets in the different towns, stay tuned. dontgetit.gif

Bertuzzi thanks Canucks' fans in letter posted on team's website.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank Canucks fans and the city of Vancouver for all of your kind wishes. Your support, coupled with that of my teammates, Canucks ownership, management and staff and my agent Pat Morris have been a great help in these very difficult times."

I agree.........This entire situation could have been avoided if Moore would’ve just dropped his gloves and taken his lumps earlier in the game…I blame Moore just as much as Bertuzzi for what happened. noexpression.gif

exactly!!! Plus he has apoligized a million times and you can see in his face what he did was not on purpose he did not want to injury the guy. It was a hockey game and anger kicked in and he did something that he did not want to do

Very interesting. I think Betuzzi is a great guy, but he knows he commited a huge mistake and was willing to pay the price.

I'm glad to see him on the ice again, I think he paid his dues and like stated, he has apologized numerous times; I don't think he did it on purpose, and it was just a terrible event. sad.gif

It will definitely be interesting to see Bertuzzi on the ice, and to see how the fans react to his appearances.

When I first heard about the Bertuzzi-Moore incident, I was pretty shocked. Todd Bertuzzi wasn't that kind of player. He snapped and lossed control of the situation, but I feel he's been punished enough and it looks as though he is extremely sorry for his actions. I'm glad to hear that he will be back on the ice. I still feel he is a good guy who made a HUGE mistake.

One thing is for sure... they shouldn't let him get on the ice when playing against the Avs. Those guys will be out for revenge on Moore. Can't blame them, though. They're just sticking out for a teammate.
