QUOTE
Like all the NHL goalies, Brodeur feels that he doesn't get enough credit for his skills. In recent years, as goals-against averages have dropped, fans have increasingly blamed that development on the goalie's equipment.

The 'keepers insist that their personal improvement, their skill development, has been overlooked. But now, the league has cracked down on the size of the goalie's equipment and we'll find out just how much the padding had to do with the their success.

I agree, we need to stop all this padding moaning stuff, can it not be that the league is full of the best goaltenders in the world? i hate it that people are saying that it ruins the game, it makes it better cause when someone does score its usually because of hard work or skill and isn't that what we all like seeing????.. i for one love seeing skilled goalies do their stuff and showing their skills and if it means lower scoring games..who cares???? I love the game whatever happens to it. and with all these rule changes how can we compare their stats to greats of former days!!! we can't because it'll no longer be under the same circumstances and it almost makes stat records invalid and unrepresentative. I can't wait for the best goalies like jiggy, brodeur, turco and others to prove everyone wrong.

If people are so fussed about keepers, maybe they could have the NHL like we had a league in England like years back. No keeper. The scores weren't that bad eaither from what I've heared from my dad. 7-13 goals for each team a game.
