Start saving up your money! The third annual Mighty Ducks Fantasy Camp is at Disney Ice (if it'll still be called that) on August 22-25. And it's only $2100 for this opportunity to be coached by Mike Babcock. Registrations for camp will open the first week of April. No mention of specific NHL players showing up this year tho' they say there'll be Mighty Ducks stars of past and present on the ice. rolleyes.gif

Talk about fantasies.....

How about my personal fantasy of being able to go the Pond and watch some NHL hockey, live, on the ice in front of me? Preferably before I am old and gray? OK, older and grayer.

And the price of the camp doesn't include any equipment you may need (skates, pads, etc.) They only provide your jersey and socks.

My loose chain is going towards a new pair of glasses, my eye test was due about a month ago and I think I need stronger lens again sad.gif The lens and frames will be about £300 so I've got about £150 to go.

If any of the members on here can afford this, then I hope they have a great time and remember to take a camera. biggrin.gif

Sometimes I wish I was an underpriviliged Cancer victim just so I could go to that camp on a charity basis.

“This annual event is one of my favorites because I am able to work with true hockey fans and help their love for hockey grow”, stated Mighty Ducks Head Coach Mike Babcock. “This camp is truly a once in a lifetime experience and something that the campers will remember forever.”

That's IF he'll still be the Ducks coach in August.

Living out their fantasy

There were plenty of good memories, instant friendships and fresh stories ready to be embellished for years to come.

But as participants left the Mighty Ducks Fantasy Camp this week, Riverside native Ben Hershkowitz had the most unique souvenir.

"That's where Jason Marshall got me with a shot," Hershkowitz said, pointing to the softball-size bruise on his left arm.

For an amateur goalie like Hershkowitz, getting the chance to step in front of a slap shot delivered by an NHL player like Ducks defenseman Marshall, well, that's an opportunity that just can't be missed.

Hershkowitz doesn't see a welt on his arm; he sees a save he made against a pro.

Wow, great article!!! I noticed that Carney and Vish were at this fantasy camp--maybe there was a conflict and that's why they couldn't make it to the Fedorin Cup.

No, Carney and Vish had plenty of time to recover from Camp to attend the Fedorin Cup. Vish was supposed to be at Camp for "The Game" but didn't show. Something else must've kept both away.

No "inside info" ... Vish was on the Fantasy Camp Game roster but wasn't on the ice, Carney only went to Day #3 of camp with Vish
