I'll say it again like I said before, maybe he will be a starter for Anaheim in the 2nd half of the season.

I actually believe that much better motivation is to start in Anaheim.

I believe Getzlaf has the motivation to have a great camp and get a job in Anaheim. He started to show that last night with a great performance against the Kings. He's out to impress again tonight.

I'll see what he looks like at camp next week and then vote based on that information. If he has only gotten better in the past two years, there is no reason for him to start in Portland, but that isn't up to me.

I like the way you think MrsB. But I also think Getz has had enough seasoning in Cincy and I'm willing to bet that barring injury he'll tear 'em up in camp. wink.gif I just wish I could be there to see it. crybaby.gif

And very interesting: no one bases decision on cap... So we are all player, not team centered??? ohmy.gif

What does Getz have to learn in Portland? Rookie tournament (7 points in 2 games) showes: this kid is master at that level, time to take the next step! wink.gif

No need to say leadership. I believe he will not join Ducks as their leader... He can learn leadership qualites from Scott, Feds & Teemu in Anaheim! biggrin.gif

Personally I would see his sending to Portland as a sign of mistrust and plan to lower his salary (AHL max $75,000). I believe he will not be happy camper in Portland..

I'd love him being given opportunity and support in fighting for Calder against Ovechkin, Crosby, Carter, Richards, Vanek, Phaneuf, Lehtonen, Niittymäki...
