After a long courtship the Thrashers finally got their man as Peter Bondra signed.

The one year deal "was thought to include a base salary of around $500,000 and he could earn another $2.9 million if the Thrashers win the Stanley Cup."

IMO, Atlanta are nothing with out Ilya. He's (one of) the best goal scorer(s) in the world. Hossa doesn't make a difference now healtey is gone.

Key players in Atlanta at the moment:
1. Hossa
2. Lehtonen
3. Bondra
They will do more than fine...

I'm not sold on them. I think with out Ilya, they might get into the playoffs. But if they do get him signed, thats about 40+ more goals from him. That could but the team over the top and into the playoffs.
But, they are still in that weak division, so they may not need Ilya to get those goals...
