I guess we have to get used to that...
I hope Babs will get used to the scores he had yesterday night.

Many other NHL coaches will certainly echo Mike Babcock's thoughts about the league's new mandate against interference-type penalties.
"We're going to have to learn the rules and how to play," he said after watching his Detroit Red Wings drop a 5-3 decision to the defending-Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning in the first exhibition game for both teams on Monday night.
It featured 18 power plays and almost half of the contest (29 minutes, 26 seconds) was played with one of the teams holding a manpower advantage.
Four of the eight goals came on the power play.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes the defense to adapt to the "new game." I don't see the refs backing down any time this season after all the hubbub about allowing the skilled skaters to show their stuff. However, I'm not among those that find an exciting game is always about a high scoring contest. For me, a well-executed game can be one of those tense low-scoring, dueling goalie affairs. I'm hoping teams adapt soon ... a parade through the sin bins will not be a fun game to sit through.
