Does it matter if we play badly in preseason?

I say yes. But I guess we think of different things. The question is playing badly... I do not care (too much) if we win, but I really expect team not to play badly. Finding chemistry, trying out new things, getting to know all the new faces - yes. But on the same time playing good hockey, that gets better from game to game!

I went with no. Especailly after the lockout, I think a lot of teams (with new players in the squad) will take a few games to get into sync. It gives the coach and players a chance to tweak any problems before the season starts.

No as well. This pre-season, this is the time to look at our lines and changing them when needed!

I say yes. You play like you practice, and so far the Mighty Ducks have lost both games and had very little offense to show for their efforts. Especially on the power play.

I said yes. It's demoralizing to keep losing and bad PR in general. You don't want to get into any bad habits early. Just like "last" season, they are trying too hard (already) and being too cute, when all they should do is be clean and practical.

I said yes. Normally, I would say no, but this is NOT a normal season. New rules, lots of player movement, and a non-season last year make it all the more important for the team to "jell," and do things well in order to get off on the right foot in the regular season. I am getting a bit worried, and I'll be more worried if we don't win tomorrow against the 'Yotes.

I say no. I mean, how much did these guys play hockey during the lockout? Preseason helps them to get in the groove of playing games again - and to gel with other players on the lines - maybe even changing up the lines completely but thats what preseason is for.

Can I say yes and no?
The preseason sees a lot of young guys and mixed up lines and is not always the actual team that will end up playing on opening night. Therefore, it is not a true reflection of the Ducks. However, every win is important and can go towards positive momentum into the regular season. While there is time to make corrections and figure things out, they need to do it promptly. Pre-season can definitely reflect how a team will or will not play in the year.
