Hmm, did you read the newspapers? Shields was the negative one over Freisen. It was AFTER Jeff left the Ducks, he made a comment about the Ducks that sent Duck fans ballistic,

I can never get over Friesen scoring in the Finals and skating by the Ducks bench to laugh at them. 
That was just icing on the cake for him... Grrr...
When he was in Anaheim, he didn't do shit but whine and b*tch... I was glad we got rid of him. He didn't even try...

Nah, imagine, Shields gets on the team due to tryouts, and Friesen gets traded back to Anaheim, and it's the 2001-2002 Mighty Ducks again!

Think of it, Friesen's a little superstar on the Sharks, gets traded to a "sucky" (using his sentiments) team like Anaheim; now he's a little superstar on the Devils, wins the cup vs. Anaheim, gets traded to a worse team called the Capitals.
