I think steroids is a bigger problem then a lost of season, most if not all sports have had a contract issue.

i think that while steriods is a huge scandal, the nhl missed a whole season. this means that no one can and effectively even if they want to couldn't. and depending on many factors, many viewers may just refuse to watch the new season as they may or may not have missed it when it wasn't there. MLB on the other hand did not shut down for a season and people actually had the choice to switch off, but could go back to it if they wanted.

steroids, as doping still continues to destroy the value of competiting in sports and so on. I am not going to make the old "what's right and what is wrong" speech, BUT I think it is so silly to use stereoids as it doesn't make sports great as it is by human beings being able to break records all on their own...
