The Colorado Avalanche will re-sign Steve Moore once he is medically cleared to play, the recovering NHLer told a Denver courtroom Monday.

In an appearance related to his civil suit against Todd Betuzzi and others, Moore told the court he met with Avalanche general manager Pierre Lacroix last month and the club informed him they do want to bring him back.

Moore's recovery hasn't moved forward as quickly as originally anticipated, but he fully intends on returning to the NHL.

"As soon as I'm cleared, I'll be back here," Moore said from the stand. "My intention was to always return to Colorado and resume my career with the Avalanche."

GREAT NEWS!!! Good news for Steve and I am glad that he is on the road to recovery!!! smile.gif biggrin.gif ana-ban.gif banana.gif pirate-ban-.gif

Screw that guy, im sick of him. It's too bad what happened but I got sick a long time hearing him whine about how his career was over and how he could never live a normal life again, all in the persuit of his civil suit, now only to miraculously be able to play this season.

he sure made it harder on bertuzzi
if he comes back this season or next i think its all BS what he was saying about bertuzzi ending his career and i think bertuzzi should give him a piece of his mind on the ice ( in a non-cheap kinda way)

This is just litigation tactics. Moore is trying to convince the court that he is really a Colorado resident so that he can sue in Colorado rather than in British Columbia. There is more money available in Colorado courts than in Canadian courts, so it is to his benefit to stay in the Colorado courts.

I appreciate that he is skating again, which means that there are many things that he can do with his life, even if he does not play professional hockey again. That is good news. But in the end all litigation is about the money.

Actually, the way im looking at it is that hes probably not doing well on his case. Why would you admit publically that you are suddenly well enough to play full contact professional sports when you are trying to base your case on how your life was forever ruined because you were assaulted? Again, I think hes probably losing so hes going back for money.

I'm glad he's recovered enough to be able to play, but I'm sick of hearing about him too. blahblah1.gif

Won't it be weird for him to be a teammate of May's? blink.gif

After the February game, Bertuzzi, May - who signed with the Avalanche this summer - Crawford and Burke met in Denver and planned Bertuzzi's hit as retaliation.

Fine, sue Bertuzzi for the hit, but to involve all those other people and claim it was a "civil conspiracy?" That's just crazy. Besides the fact that Burke wasn't even in Denver for that game...or was he supposedly on speakerphone? Besides...they would never tell Bert to retaliate anyway, he's not an enforcer. The Canucks want him on the ice, not in the box. It's all crap. Not to mention that the only reason to sue in Colorado would be to get more money.

It's awful what happened, and I'm glad he's getting better, (although I'm sure he's still a long way off from playing)but that doesn't give him the right to fling wild accusations around.
