love to see the avs get kicked out soon ... they have no heart and the determination comes with 2 minutes left in the game when aebischer is pulled ... itll be interesting to watch colorado realize that just because the are the "Colorado Avalanche" to the league, they are just the rangers who got just a little farther, but whos puck hogs and underperformers know when to slack at the right time

Teemu looked so sad sitting there on the bench at the end of the game. I'm betting he's realizing now that his dream of piggybacking his way to a Cup is nearing its end. Oh and of course he's also thinking "Hold me, Paul."

Note to 28 other NHL teams - do not let ESPN film "The Season." So far, it has jinxed two teams in a row. It is a one in 30 chance to get it right and predict which team is going to win the Cup. Even when you eliminate the least likely candidates, you still can't predict these things. Too many factors. I also wonder if being following constantly doesn't start making you think you ARE going to win the Cup and forget that you have to actually earn it. Overconfidence.

Regardless, this season is not what Paul and Teemu expected it to be. Well. That will teach them!

Let them follow the Rangers around, maybe it will HELP them. lol biggrin.gif

Rob Blake done in?
QUOTE
Report: Blake might be done for series
TSN.ca Staff
4/27/2004
The Avalanche are not saying much, but media reports in Denver are suggesting that Colorado defenceman Rob Blake won't be able to play in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinal against the San Jose Sharks Wednesday, and might even be done for the series.
The Denver Post and The Rocky Mountain News reported Tuesday that the Avalanche would only confirm that Blake had an "upper body injury" and that X-Rays had been taken.

Maybe he should have had second thoughts about trying to lay that hit on Cheechoo. biggrin.gif

Bettin' Selanne was wishing he stayed in San Jose, instead of getting sweet talked into dashing off to Colorado.

Serves him and Kariya right, but that's just flogging a dead horse. We know it, they know it.

Has anyone here ever seen a goal like the one Damphousse had last night?? It was so excellent! He deserved it, Abby deserved it and the Avs surely deserved it for letting ANY of the Sharks stay behind the net for that long and not get someone back there. Avs so need to go down tomorrow.

"Upper body injury"? HA! It looked like a knee injury to me.

Hehe. It sure looked like Vinny was aiming for the big #1 on Aebi's back biggrin.gif Great deflection!

And I think Selanne may be cursed. He declined (reportedly BM made offers) to sign with the Ducks last year and stayed with the Sharks. Who goes to the SC finals? This year he spurns the Sharks offer to stay in SJ and goes to the Avs w/PK. It's kind of like a Greek tragedy.

Well, good thing he declined BM's offers or else the Ducks might not have made it to the SC Finals.

Yes, it is ironic about how Selanne and Kariya thought it would be different. Well, I have a few good friends who like Paul, and one posts and reads here, , so Ishant say anymore. I do wish Paul would have stayed here. It might have been oh so different. Maybe not the Cup Finals this year, but I am sure we would have made the playoffs, without all of the turnover we had.

Oh... I can hear the "woe is me" refrain coming from the mouths of Kariya and Selanne right now. Do I care? No I can't honestly say I do. That's how I feel and unfortunately I can't change it. What goes around comes around. Bad karma, bad... bad..... smile.gif

Nope, the Avs have never lost in less than 6 games in a series according to TSN:

"STREAKS: Dating to the regular season, San Jose is 4-1-1 in its last five games against Colorado. ... The Avalanche have never lost a playoff series in fewer than six games."
