What Do You Suppose Is In The Future FOr # 8 & 9?

But just wondering everyones opinions. You got two players who literally gave their former teams the finger, to hightail it to a team they both thought would win them the cup, without having to do all the work. And it looks like karma is paying them a nice little visit. Whether you still respect the guys, or, in the majority, would like to see them dipped in glue, you got to wonder what will become of these two now.
Anyone think Selanne will remain in the NHL [of course, provided we get a season, '04-'05]? The Avs won't resign him, so I think, as he hinted at previously, he will return to Finland, where he will be treated as a hero. I think if he stays in the league, he will end up on a team like the Columbus Blue Jackets. I feel his days are done. Or, possibly, he will be asked to coach the Avs when Granato is fired in a few days. Just kidding [about the Selanne & the coach thing, not the Granato firing]
As for Kariya-do you think any GM will want this guy? I mean, he DOES still have skills left, but do you think GM's may be wary of his lying ways? He will never get a fat check ever again, and I can't see him settling for a measley paycheck. My guess is, if nothing good comes his way, he will end up as a NY Ranger.

PK could very well stay with the Avs. He's not a young player anymore, but he is on the upside of 30 and still has a lot of skill and could produce if he's healthy and if he plays with the right linemates. He certainly won't get his $10M, but if Forsberg does go back to Sweden for good, then the Avs could use some of PF's $ to resign PK. I think if the Avs get knocked out (which is almost a moot point now), they are going to go in a rebuilding mold and if Lacroix sees PK as part of Avs new core of players and his price is reasonable, I could see PK back with the Avs.

He'll get a middling salary, under whatever the new CBA structure is. A few million bucks. He put up decent points as an oft-injured spare part. Some offense starved team will want him and he'll deliver. Since when have scruples been a determining factor in signing people anyway? Never, at least not in professional sports. Sheesh, even Theo Fleury kept getting chances.
Selanne will get a job if he wants one, but he'll need to accept a very small contract and be willing to prove himself again. I think he'll retire and head back to Sweden as a demigod there.

Glue is not harsh enough. But on the plus side, they are both getting what they deserve.
As long as it's not back here, I really don't care where their over-inflated egos land.

Teemu will probably resume his hockey career in the Finnish league, and Paul will be the housewife of this lovely family

Can't you see them strolling down by the lake, hand in hand, sharing lingonberries and rye bread, staring into each other's eyes, framed by the sunset and the steam rising from the natural saunas
It'll be a CBS movie of the week, I guarantee.

It's legal in BC too. And this IS Paul's hometown.

Kariya goes to Vancouver and joins the NHL's most hated team.

Getting points (which is all he cares about) will be much harder with the Avacrap as this is a team heading downhill.

Joe had a great season, but shows signs of getting old in the playoffs especially versus a quick skating team such as San Jose.
Mr. Loyalty really should head to Europe since he finds the hooking and holding over here so annoying.
