I'm torn. I'd LIKE to see the Sharks put the bite on the Avs and sweep but at the same time I recognize that a long layoff between games can have a negative effect. Also, while it is a relief to close out a series it's always sweeter to do in so your own building in front of your own home crowd.

To sweep or not to sweep. That is the question. :coffee: hmm.gif

Sharks are circling! Blood in the water?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=81...922&hubName=nhl

The Avs are going down! I don't care if it takes four games or five, the Avs are going down!
:bbn: hmm.gif To bad we couldn't have a Shark mask on that banana. Temporarily of course.

Ya know? They SAY Kariya is out with an ankle injury. Sprain is what we've been told. But I'll bet that sucker is broken. If it was a sprain he could lace 'em up extra tight and be out there. :td:

I don't really care.

This series is the most enjoyment I'm getting out of the SC this year (other than just enjoying hockey, that is). I just want to see the Crapalanche out!

I'd like to point out that if the Avs lost the next game, it'll most likely be Forsberg's last game in the NHL. I wouldn't be dissapointed or anything but he has been fun to watch over the years.

I thought Forsberg denied what has been said about him going back to Sweden?

He denied the reports but he never said he wasn't going back. With his father coaching Modo and a lockout eminent, I don't see why he wouldn't. A SEL title is more important to him than a Cup at the moment.

You never know, especially if he is offered a big contract.

The only thing that Forsberg hasn't won at this time is a SEL championship. He has stated that this is the biggest dissapointment in his career. Especially with his father coaching, he is VERY likely going back. I don't money is that big an issue since he has more than enough money, and the Swedish Elite League doesn't exactly pay peanuts.
I also have a very hard time seeing Forsberg offered a big contract with the CBA coming up. It would be a very stupid move by Lacroix.

Oh well ... Like Reb first posted, when you sweep you get to rest, but you can also get rust. Now SJ fans get to see their team try to put the Avs away on their home ice.

Haha, that would be excellent for the Sharks fans. I want to see Cheechoo score the GWG.

Patrick Roy was my favourite Avalanche of all time. What an amazing goalie he was. After he retired though, I felt absolutely no reason to cheer for the Avs, especially after signing of the homosexual duo.

The Sharks weren't as aggressive as they should have been, especially in the second period. I think they waited for a break that never came. Usually a mistake wins and loses games like this and Ratje's did.

The worst part is I won't be able to see the game live on Saturday. Will have to tape and watch late Sunday. Crap.

Too bad they lost by a crap goal though (bad turnover right in front of their goal)... Oh well, Saturday's the end for the Avs!! biggrin.gifx:

Yes, that's EXACTLY how I felt. I don't cheer for the Avs anymore after Patrick retired. I do like Joe Sakic, so at least a real Av scored the game winner....... If they had to score....

Abby looked a bit like Roy last night as he attacked several Sharks and was aggressive outside of the crease. I liked that. All goalies in the playoffs this year are getting shown no respect in their paint! I think they should all curse the name of J.S. Giguere -- who got tons of respect last year. Sweet!

Anyone else holding their breathe that the fluke goal would come off of Sauer!!! Glad it ended up being Sakic. One of the only guys on the Avs that doesn't dive at every bump!! clap.gif

Quick math question.... Who adds minutes like this???

Quote from AP "Aebischer, who has a scoreless streak of 138 minutes, 48 seconds."

Curious about this stat. He allowed a goal in the 3rd period about half way through game 3, then 5 more minutes in OT and 60 minutes of the regular game no goals allowed of game four.

If math math serves me correctly..... 60 + 5 + 10 is 75 minutes! Yee gads, lets give him even more credit! This is approximate, I didn't go down to the second.

Or am I missing something? No biggie, I HATE Candy Aebischer, and I hate to see him get credit where it isn't due.
