Red Wings goalie injured
November 1, 2005

DETROIT (AP) -- Red Wings goalie Manny Legace left Detroit's game against the Chicago Blackhawks in the first period Tuesday night due to an apparent leg injury, and was not expected to return.

Chicago's Matthew Barnaby fell on Legace 3:23 into the game, with most of the defenseman's weight landing on Legace's left leg. Legace, who set an NHL record for wins in October with 10, was replaced by Chris Osgood.

Detroit defenseman Jiri Fischer retaliated against Barnaby and both players received 5-minute fighting penalties.

Florida was victimized by two horrible calls which cost them the game. First they called a tripping when the Montreal player tripped on a dropped stick.

Then they allowed the GWG after Kovalev whacked a defenseman on the knees on the PP which 2 seconds late led to the goal dry.gif

Yah, that penalty against the Cats that was called in OT was a complete dive. Terrible call.

I didn't see the other play though.

I was way too tired this morning to post any media writeups to go with the photos, so here's the AP game night summary for last night featuring the Ducks. <link>
