Productive talks? That's what they're saying. dry.gif
However, it would seem that "money" is really the name of the game. hmm.gif

Helping spur the latest talks are looming expirations of corporate sponsorships and a key television agreement in the United States.

ABC's contract, which expires this summer, provides each team with $4 million US per season and a potential labour disruption could tie the NHL's hands in talks for a new deal.

A work stoppage could force corporate sponsors to spend their promotion money elsewhere.

"We know there are a lot of people connected to this game who are very interested in the result of these discussions,'' said Daly. "The league's message to them is we're trying to get this resolved because it's in everyone's interest to get this resolved.''

I see nothing new here. Everyone knows the NHL is 1. a business and 2. a hockey league. dry.gif

There's nothing we can really do about it. confused.gif

You're right Wilka. I'm just wondering if sponsors and networks can exert pressure on the clowns to come to an agreement that we fans cannot.
