QUOTE
One month into his new career, the greatest overachiever in NHL history found himself saddled with one of the league's most underachieving teams.

Gretzky describes himself as a "pretty patient guy," but even he admits patience is probably what has been hardest to learn as a coach.

"Some days, we're just not good. Sometimes, we make the same mistakes over and over," says Gretzky, 44. "So to be patient and understanding and encourage players as much as you can, that's a big thing about coaching."

Thanks for posting this..I was wondering how his coaching stint was really going and you can't tell that from the stats. It sounds like he's loving it and this was an excellent decision for him. We may have to fear the Yotes someday!

Great, right in time to meet us a three times in the next two weeks. I wonder if Carlyle's 15 to 20 minute chats with each of the Duck players will have the same effect. We shall see, we shall see.
