Fedorov and S. Nieds both have humongous contracts that won't fit in other teams' caps. The few teams that could afford either of them don't have anything of value to offer back.
Giguere is playing very well this season and is back in form. While more valuable this year than last, I still doubt he'd be traded.
Selanne - inexpensive and producing. The guy is a perfect fit here. He's not going anywhere.
Ozo - been suffering some bad luck lately with injuries. Last season had shoulder surgery. Didn't play during the lockout. He has a lot to offer the Ducks when healthy and playing, but I don't think he has a lot to offer in terms of trade value right now.
Andy Mac - History of concussions and spotty production. On again, off again. No significant salary to free up. Not a likely candidate.
Carney - solid on defense, producing this year, dependable and truly deserving of a letter on his chest. Leads on and off the ice and offers some intangibles. On final year of contract and getting older. Could be going, but would leave a big hole in our D that we can't afford to have right now.
Salei - taking some really costly penalties. Senior Duck. Possible trade bait.
Sykora - not putting it in the net, but not for lack of shooting. Last year of contract. Most likely trade bait of the group. Frees up some money, could get reasonable player in return. Done with contract this year and free agent if not re-signed.
Other guys - someone might be folded into a package deal. Perry, Getzlaf and Lupul are what I would call untouchable. They are the future of the franchise. Everyone else is up for grabs, so to speak.
However, what does continue to shift people going to do in terms of chemistry? More new people? It takes time to adjust to systems and each other, for the most part. I'd rather work with the group we have now and try to fine tune what is wrong. When they are putting it all together, it looks great.
