With the Washington Capitals struggling on the ice, at the box office and in the National Hockey League's (NHL) Southeast Division, Olaf Kolzig concedes time is running out.
The gifted, 35-year-old goaltender, one of the few familiar faces remaining on the Capitals after the team's dramatic makeover, wants to win the Stanley Cup. Badly.
"There's only a year left on my contract," Kolzig said. "There are not too many players who can say they've started and finished their career with one team. That's one thing I'd like to do. But having said that, I also want the opportunity to try to get my name on the Cup. I realize there are no guarantees but you want to at least get a good chance."
