I think in terms of financial considerations, we won... where it matters in terms of future development, getting something back, Stanley Cup chances and stuff I think we lost big time.

I get fed up about this financial win... Sick story. Feds is top class franchaise player. He can win games. 6 million is not that much. OK it is new NHL, but best players still are paid nice $$$. If we are desperate to cut just the $$$ then as good trade is Scott Niedermayer for Kaljuste (Team Estonia defenceman)... We will get rid of huge salary...

We did not get anything worth back in this trade. We have 24 players in current roster. We either send talented youth to AHL or may lose some of our guys through waivers...

This trade is one of the worst in NHL history!

The Ducks won on several fronts:

1. Salary dump. That's been discussed ad nausea so I won't.
2. Burke's building a team based on the "farm" because of the new NHL economy.
3. Fedorov isn't a long term solution for the BJs neither is Wright for the Ducks, they're stop gaps.
4. You will be surprised by what Wright brings to the ice immediately.

Yup DK agree with you. We won salary dump and a good hard working player with Wright. Btw Feds was over-paid. One of the worst trades was Selanne for Friesen and Shields. rolleyes.gif

I guess it depends on how u look at it.....Both teams got out of the deal what they went into it to acomplish so i call it a tie.
If u look at it from the ducks point of view wanting to make a salary dump and getting a couple of good players out of the deal as well...it could even be a little bit of an edge to the ducks.

Couldn't have said it any better blurred1. I also think it's tie. But seems to me that feds has been playing very well in columbus even though he had no points in yesterday's game. But he came close when he hit the post. I'm sure he'll do well in the next couple of games.

We did because we can pick up someone younger and just as talented.

After few weekes,I would say,we have won this trade.
Feds hasn't been able to help the Blue Jackets while Beauchemin has suprised everyone with his play and Wright also plays good.

After a few weeks we have dominated this trade! Feds has done next to nothing and Wright and Marchant are playing better than we ever could have hoped while Beauchemin is playing with Scott as our first line defense, logging over 20 minutes a game.
