The AP wire stated after game four that David Aebischer had a shut out streak of 138 minutes and 48 seconds. I added loosely in my head and came up with around 75/76 minutes. I read today on the Denver Post in Woody Paige's article of the same streak. I, knowing I was right and sick of media getting it wrong, decided to write Mr. Paige. Below is my email, and below that is Mr. Paige's response. HA! I love it! Veca, I followed your lead and actually wrote to make my point. :>)). Gee, do you think the paper will write about their error in bold headlines? I doubt it! They want to give as much props as possible!

..............my email.......
I have a quick question regarding David Aebischer's Shut Out Streak of 138 minutes and 48 seconds. I read in the AP wires of the same stat. How can this be? In game three, the Sharks scored at 8:59 of the third period. So, that should mean that David Aebischer had 11:01 of that game with no goals allowed. In game four, David Aebischer did not allow a goal through 60 minutes of regular time, and 5:15 of overtime. My math adds these totals to be 11:01 plus 65:15, which would equal 76 minutes and 16 seconds.

.........Woody Paige's response........
The Avalanche p.r. department put out erroneous information. Sorry you and
the thousands of others who have written me received the mistaken statistic.

Perhaps they were thinking of Nabokov's numbers?
