The Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin, one of the brightest young stars to enter the NHL in years, is being sued by his former team in the Russian Super League, Moscow Dynamo.

Ovechkin was served with legal papers Saturday in Montreal by a court officer who seemed more excited to be meeting an NHL star than he was in doing his job.

Alexander Ovechkin.

Short Translation:

Dynamo Moscow claims it has the right to Ovechkin until the 30th of April 2006 and wants him either back with the team or a $900 000 compensation. They are more after the money so chances are good that he wont have to go back to Russia.
First verdict in this case was in favor of Dynamo.

that was on hfboards.com btw
