If these allegations are true, it's really unfortunate that Danton felt compelled to go to such an extreme. Someone who does something as desperate as this must have some very serious psychological problems. But as MrsB, Veca and others have said, we do not know all the circumstances and I am not trying to pass judgement on him. This is some "news" I picked up:

While I was driving home last night, I happened to come across a program on KSPN (710) when the hosts of the show were interviewing a reporter from the St. Louis Post Dispatch. The reporter said a couple of things: 1) the FBI now says initial reports (interpreting the official complaint/warrant) were incorrect in speculating there might have been a romantic relationship between Danton and the alleged target; 2) Danton's teammates have come out publicly to support him in terms of their interactions with him as a teammate (i.e., good guy on the team and in the lockerroom, battler for the team, etc.,), but the Blues organization has been mostly silent; 3) Danton's father and agent (David Frost) are engaging in a back and forth blame game (agent implying there may have been some sort of childhood abuse; father saying the agent has manipulated and had too much influence in his son's life). There are also reports that Frost may have actually been the target, but Frost denies this.
