The Penguins had a memorable trip back into the United States after spending the first half of the week in Canada. Sidney Crosby and Josef Melichar had stashed their passports in bags that were stowed in the belly of the airplane, and both were pulled aside by U.S. immigration -- "put in a holding cell," as one member of the traveling party described it -- until their passports could be retrieved.

You'd think Crosby would just show them his "A" on the sweater and they'd roll out the red carpet.

Did anyone else watch the Pens-Thrashers game tonight? Kovalchuk "showed up" Crosby by pointing to him in the penalty box after he scored a PP goal. Crosby came out of the sin bin cursing Kovalchuk. blink.gif

QUOTE
ATLANTA (AP) - Ilya Kovalchuk put up his second hat trick of the season for the Atlanta Thrashers, scoring his third goal into an empty net with 44 seconds left to clinch a 6-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

The Thrashers built a 5-0 lead through two periods before the Penguins came alive, scoring four times to give themselves a chance in the closing minutes.

...

Sidney Crosby picked up one assist but largely had a forgettable night for the Penguins. The 18-year-old center was twice penalized for slashing, drew derisive chants from the crowd and was taunted by Kovalchuk after the Thrashers star scored his second goal.

...

The Thrashers made it 5-0 in the second period with two power-play goals against Fleury, the first by Marian Hossa. Then, with Crosby sent off with his second slashing penalty, Kovalchuk took a pass from outside the circle and one-timed a blistering shot over Fleury's left shoulder.

Kovalchuk turned quickly and pointed toward Crosby, who was coming out of the penalty box. The crowd chanted "Crosby! Crosby! Crosby!" toward one the No. 1 draft pick and one of the NHL's most touted prospects in years.

Crosby "primadona" deserves to get his ass kicked by Kovalchuk.
