Late Breaking Updates and Notes for January 9
Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Bryan McCabe will miss the team's game in Vancouver Tuesday with a groin injury.
Penguins captain Mario Lemieux had an off-ice workout over the weekend while his teammates were going through their morning skate. There is still not timetable for Lemieux's return to action as doctors are still trying to settle on a proper dosage of heart medication. - Pittsburgh Post Gazette

Bruins defenceman Nick Boynton has been skating for a week now and is feeling better every day. Boynton was expected to take part in as much of the Bruins' practice today as possible. Pierre Turgeon's shoulder injury may keep him out for about one week. He didn't skate Sunday and said his shoulder injury could keep him out for a "couple of games."
