Late Breaking Updates and Notes for January 12
Brandon Bochenski returns to the Senators' lineup tonight after missing 11 games due to separated right shoulder. Jason Spezza will miss the game and is still day-to-day. Defencemen Zdeno Chara and Chris Phillips will try and be on the ice for every Joe Thornton shift tonight.
Maple Leafs forward Eric Lindros will have the cast on his right wrist removed today. Lindros is hoping his torn ligament has healed sufficiently to allow him to return to action. The alternative is surgery. Bryan McCabe will test his strained groin muscle in practice today. Unless he is fully recovered, McCabe will likely sit out Saturday's game against the Coyotes. - Toronto Star
Blue Jackets rookie Gilbert Brule has begun skating. He spent about 15 minutes on the ice yesterday, reporting no ill effects. - Columbus Post-Dispatch
Canucks forward Richard Park left last night's game against Toronto in the second period with a knee injury. He will be re-evaluated Wednesday.
Coyotes centre Petr Nedved may be a healthy scratch tonight. With the return of Tyson Nash (abdominal surgery), Nedved was not practicing yesterday with any of the regulars. - Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette
Bruins netminder Tim Thomas could start against Los Angeles tonight. Coach Mike Sullivan said he would wait until today to announce whether Andrew Raycroft or Thomas will start in net against the Kings. Hannu Toivonen, who sprained his right ankle a week ago, is now wearing a removeable cast on his right leg. Nick Boynton (knee) is probable for this evening's contest against Los Angeles, while Hal Gill (pinched nerve) is doubtful for tonight's game against the Kings. - Boston Globe/Herald
Manny Legace will get the start for the Red Wings tonight. Henrik Zetterberg will lineup on the wing tonight with Pavel Datsyuk as his centre, allowing Robert Lang to return to centre on the other line in tonight's game against Philadelphia. - Detroit Free Press
Islanders forward Jason Blake is probable for tonight's contest against Calgary. He has missed the Isles last two games with bruised ribs but practiced yesterday and declared himself ready to return. Netminder Rick DiPietro may be ble to return to action for tonight's game against the Flames after missing the Islanders' last five games with a sprained right knee. - New York Daily News
Predators forward Scott Walker saw some action on the blueline last night because of injuries to Kimmo Timonen and Danny Markov. - The Nashville Tennessean
Wild forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard returned to practice yesterday. Bouchard has missed the last two games with a neck strain. He is expected to return on Sunday. - Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune
Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo is probable for tonight's game against St.Louis. Luongo, who has a slightly sprained right ankle, practiced yesterday and indicated that he should be able to play - Miami Herald
Sabres centre Chris Drury (groin) is expected to play tonight against the Coyotes. Paul Gaustad will miss the game against Phoenix due to a concussion. - Buffalo News

I expected that considering what they did to the Ducks and to Detroit. But Phoenix, and especially SJ winning on the road is surprising to me.
I agree, especially considering the teams they played against tonight.

I thought there was a good chance the connection would be missed ... In the Sykora "Gone" thread you noted that people should be talking about Sykora's game's successes in the GNT. So while I was tempted to post the photo in the "Gone" thread, I figured it'd be better not to annoy you further.
