... Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya could be gone after one less-than-productive season, ...

Kariya missed 31 of the first 33 games with a wrist injury and played just once in the playoffs due to a sprained ankle. His contract is up, but has said he wouldn't mind coming back.

Selanne is almost certainly gone. He never got into a rhythm and became frustrated late in the season when he was a healthy scratch of couple of times and spent time on the third and fourth lines.

"Personally, this year was a nightmare for me. I'm not going to hide it,'' said Selanne, who had just 16 goals and 16 assists this season. "I think it's too early to say anything (about returning). Right now it didn't work out."

No cup for Paul and Teemu? I say the planets are perfectly aligned. I haven't had as good a nights sleep in a while as I did last night after the Avs were eliminated. Pure joy!

Well, if it wasn't karma, then it must've been the feng shui in the house of the Avs that did them in. The house will certainly be rearranged for next season.

i think the reason the ducks didnt make the playoffs this year was so we could get a front row seat to watch the demise of kariya and selanne without having to worry about the playoffs ... now the ducks can focus on making it next year knowing that whereever those two losers go to, nothing good will ever come of it :tu:

I love all my Duck friends, and I love my Avs. I was very disappointed when Kariya chose the Avs as his choice of destination. All season I hated watching Avs because of the endless ribbing and hatred toward them mainly for Kariya. Plenty of people dislike them all on their own, but this year was really, well, you know. So, to my dismay I read that Kariya would like to stay in Denver. Please, no, go away! True, it is only a report in the paper, and we all know how true the "media" can be, hehehehehe. Still....... I have friends who love Kariya, so it is hard keeping quiet for their sake too. I just want the nightmare to end. Blah! :uh:

PS, Burnaby Joe, let him go!!!!!!

Remember those big blow up Stanley Cups they had for sale in the playoffs last year? Can't we find one of them or make one of them and leave it on his doorstep with a sign that says "Welcome Back Paul...Here's the only Cup you're going to get this season!!"
Oh, and someone needs to hide behind a bush and take a picture of him when he sees it and then post it for all of us to see.

Actually I'm not a stalker, but I found out in a round about way where Andy MacDonald used to live before he bought his home in HB. And given my location where I live in HB and where its been posted that Andy and Lupul have shared a hot tub or two with the PP girls, I just know that I have passed the love nest or at least been within a block of it on more than one occasion.

PS I actually have one of those $40 blow up cups or rather my son does. It's hard not to get caught up in playoff fever.
