Jose Theodore has been traded by the Habs to the Avs for David Aebischer. I wonder if this will turn out be Patrick Roy Part Deux in Colorado.

Shocking move by the Avalanche and the Canadiens. Big risk by both teams!

I will go to so many more Avs games now that Aebischer is gone. Welcome to Colorado Jose!

None, he's stayin.

I am totally shocked by this move. I NEVER thought Theo, with his off season and him being on IR would be traded for Abey, but then again, I have no clue how his season has been going.

Isn't Theodore injured? I think this is a bad move by Colorado... Aebischer was playing great!

I think this is a false rumor, it has no TSN link to it, and if it does it doesn't make sense at all, Theo is injured what is the Avs going to ride there back up for the rest of the season and into the playoffs, while Theo recovers??, retarted move by Colorado and good move by MTL if it is true.

It's not a rumor. TSN has it up now. And sportsnet.ca is just as reliable as TSN.

"Retarted?" Oh, the irony. LOL.

Theodore is supposed to return at the end of March. The Ducks play Colorado twice before then. I agree with you about Aebischer. This is great news for the Ducks IMO.

You heard it here first - Giguere to Canadiens for Aebischer. We'll know by noon tomorrow if I'm right.

Wait! Let me get this straight! The Montreal Canadiens have traded G Jose Theodore to the Colorado Avalanche for G David Aebeischer blink.gif Umm isn't Jose still injured with that thing of his that rescently happened a while? The Avalanche just got screwed! Theodore is injured about 6-8 weeks and who will take his spot? The Canadiens on the other hand just stole a quality goaltender that will help them get into the playoffs?

So the Av's got robbed BIG TIME am I correct? hmm.gif

At least it's good news for the Ducks! May we dominate the crapalanche, plus their goaltending isn't merely good at all banana.gif

No, actually I can't think what Lacroix was thinking with this unless there is something more to come. If Theodore is injured and won't be able to play for several weeks, then by trading their #1 goalie the Avs are risking not making the playoffs; the Avs are only six points ahead of the Ducks and we have three games in hand. And if Theodore never regains his Hart-like performance, then the Avs will have made a big miscalulation and are taking on a lot of salary cap $ next year when they can't afford to do so.

I was being snarky about the way you misspelled retarded. I apologize for that.

This is not shocking..I knew Theodore would be moved but I am surprised it was Colorado.....As to Giguere...I was confident that he was going to be moved but I am on the fence now.
