Late Breaking Updates and Notes for Tuesday, March 14
The Los Angeles Kings have activated right wing Pavol Demitra from the injured reserve list and he is expected to play in tonight's Kings-Phoenix game.
Ray Emery gets the nod in goal for the Ottawa Senators against Tampa on Tuesday, his eighth straight start.
Ed Belfour has not taken to the ice since Friday's 2-1 Maple Leaf loss to the New York Islanders, and the club has called up Jean-Sebastien Aubin from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. Mikael Tellqvist will likely get the start against Boston on Tuesday.
Canadiens centre Mike Ribeiro missed Tuesday's practice with a minor rib injury, but is expected to play this week. Defenceman Andrei Markov is day-to-day with back spasms, and is unlikely to play Thursday against Carolina. Mark Streit or Todd Simpson would dress in his place.
There's still no timetable for Senators goaltender Dominik Hasek to start practising with his Ottawa teammates. "We're in no hurry to rush him," said Senators GM John Muckler. - Ottawa Sun
