Late Breaking Updates and Notes for Thursday, March 16
Leafs forward Alex Steen will play after skipping yesterday's practice to nurse a sore right foot he suffered blocking a shot against the Bruins Tuesday. Jeff O'Neill will be a healthy scratch for the third straight game. Mikael Tellqvist will start his third straight game. Ryan Miller goes for Buffalo. Maple Leafs goalie Ed Belfour could be out of action for up to a week with a back injury.
Sharks forward Scott Thornton will not be in the lineup on Thursday. He is day-to-day with a pulled rib-cage muscle. - San Jose Mercury News
Predators defencemand Danny Markov will remain out of the lineup a little longer. He could play in a few days. - The Nashville Tennessean
There is a chance that Flyers centre Michael Handzus could return to action Friday night against the Lightning. - Philadelphia Daily News
