And my two role models are Sylvestor Stallone and the late George Carlin.

Maple Leafs goaltender Ed Belfour, who worked out on his own Thursday after the morning skate, did not travel with the team for this weekend's games as his back was still bothering him. - Toronto Star

Flyers centre Michal Handzus has been cleared to play Friday against Tampa. He tore the labrum of his left shoulder five weeks ago and will need surgery on it after the season is over. - Philadelphia Daily News

Islanders defenceman Joel Bouchard missed Thursday night's game against the Thrashers due to a knee injury. - Newsday

Devils winger Viktor Kozlov was a healthy scratch for Thursday night's 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh. - Newark Star Ledger

Rookie defenseman Lukas Krajicek returned to Panthers practice Thursday after missing almost a week with a flu-like illness. - Miami Herald

The Bruins are hoping that forward Brad Isbister, who has been sidelined with a high ankle sprain since late January, will return to action Saturday against Carolina. - Boston Herald

Bruins defenceman Milan Jurcina, who suffered a shoulder injury and missed his fourth straight game, might get back on the ice this weekend. - Boston Globe

Kings winger Jeff Cowan did not play Thursday night against Dallas due to back spasms. He will be re-evaluated today and should be considered day-to-day. - LA Times
