I have been noticing lately the people's signatures are get larger and larger. We have an established limit of 450x150 pixels for images in signatures, but now it seems people are adding more and more text to their sigs. People have been finding that is makes the board look very cluttered and harder to read. I am setting a limit for the amount of text in signatures. That limit will be 4 lines of normal sized text.

SIGNATURE LIMIT

IMAGES- 450 x 150*
TEXT - 4 LINES @ NORMAL SIZE

EXAMPLE

user posted image

*You can use small images with your text, but the images must be smiley-sized graphics that fit within the normal sized text lines.

A user bar(see below) is can be used in place of 2 lines of text.

I'll give everyone a week to get things adjusted.

Thanks,

BTW all of you who have sigs I designed are ok size wise, but you may need to edit whatever lines of text you added, below or above your sigs to accomodate MT's request.

You have to get rid of something so your sig fits the new guidelines.

I have clarified the sig guidelines a little.

"*You can use small images with your text, but the images must be smiley-sized graphics that fit within the normal sized text lines."

Also I need to address all of the baseball sig stuff going around. This is a hockey site and I'm pretty sure that most people that come to AD.com dont care what your favorite baseball teams record is. Plus those flags are too large and the fact that they are animated makes them more of an eye sore. So you guys need to remove them.

Thanks

Something else I have noticed. A lot of people have these "Next Game" items in their signatures. If you really want to put that in your signature shouldn't you also updated it after every game. I saw one today that hasn't been updated since Dec 2005!

Avatars resize themselves to fit the limit. Signatures do not.

Anyone that I designed for is okay by the limit too.

The image sig size is 450 x 150 so your image sig is slighty too big.
