I gotta go with Andy Mac. I was hoping he would have a good season, but I never imagined he would be this good.

My choice is Beauchemin. I was among those who thought "what the..." when he was what we got in return for Fedorov. He's becoming a very solid and smart defenseman with a little help from his partner, what's-his-name

I voted for Teemu. I really didn't understand why he was brought in just based on his play the last few seasons. Wow!! Was I amazed, stunned and thrilled!
I think the whole reason Andy is playing up to his potential is that 1) Selanne is his linemate 2) Kariya is no longer a Duck and 3) Fedorov is no longer a Duck and 4) he's healthy and hungry. Andy has stepped up like I knew he would' given the opportunity, so he was not a surprise.

Beauchemin. He was a complete unknown but when given his chance, he took it and ran with it, far exceeding expectations.
I always knew Andy Mac had it in him, even when the detractors were saying he was too small and injury prone. But I'm biased. Kunitz doesn't surprise me either, based on what I saw at training camp.
Selanne didn't have great years after leaving Anaheim, but he's always flourished here and seems most at home in Anaheim. Scott Niedermayer has fit in quicker than I expected, given the change in teams and systems, but he is performing to his usual standards.
The rookies are performing like rookies. If one of them ended up with Calder, that would have been a big surprise.

I voted for Beauch as well, though I'm sure SOMEONE expected this level of play from him. Columbus fans were pretty upset when he was included in the deal...they knew something we didn't at the time. (Yes, I was also one of the "WTF?" fans back in November)

Fedoruk. The start of the year, I thought he was only good for fighting. But he has put up big numbers on assists and goals, and has helped Getzlaf and perry alot.
