Since I'm checking the AHL/ECHL transactions pretty much daily I thought I'd give you the heads up about any Portland players I come across!

Brandon Dubinsky has signed an ATO with the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack. They are the Rangers affiliate, which is kind of interesting seeing as he was drafted by the Rangers. I guess they want to get another look at him before they make the decision to sign him. I didn't think drafted players could sign ATO's but I guess I was wrong!

You guys remember Robin Big Snake? He is now playing for the Rockford IceHogs of the UHL, and leads the team with 423 penalty minutes! Somehow that doesn't surprise me, considering the kid got tossed out of the WHL for racking up too many suspensions!

So Brandon is getting another looksie is he??? He impressed during the preseason camp for the Rangers so it won't surprise me if he does very well for the Hartford Wolfpack...Go Brandon!!! As for Robin, I wondered where he ended up.

Dubi got some ice Wednesday night...9 shifts and took a couple faceoffs.

Brandon has been signed to the Rangers!!

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a professional contract with forward Brandon Dubinsky.

Well Brandon had a pretty decent day on Sunday, Hartford won 7-0 behind Dubinsky's 2 goals and 2 assists!!! Yeah I think Hartford is loving having Dubi in the lineup...I recognize another name on their roster a Nigel Dawes...wasn't he a WHL player too? Way to go DUBI!!!

Yup, Dubi's doing quite well, I should say! What I don't get is that the Monarchs have signed Gibby to an ATO, but they haven't put him in yet. I'm sure he'd love to play against his old buddy Dubinsky!

Yes I believe Gibby would like a shot at Dubi!!! I thought I recognized Dawes!!! Well the Wolfpack had a MONSTER game yesterday...I hope Dubi keeps it up!!! Then I'll be seeing him with our ex-Ducks....Ozo, Sykora and Rucchin...they need him with Jagr all banged up....darn those Devils!!!

Well Dubi had another great night adding two more goals so he has 4 total in the last two games...4 goals 2 assists...man is he tearing it up..too bad Hartford lost 8-6...pretty crummy for the Wolfpack who led 4-0...4-1...6-4 and then dropped an egg in period 3 allowing 4 straight to Manchester. UGH!!!

Wow! You'd think 6 goals would be enough to win a game but I guess not! It must have been a wild one.

Well it seems Brandon will be facing our Portland Pirates in the next round of the AHL playoffs...Holy Moley!!!

Well Dubi finally got an assist in this series on Sunday and the Pirates and Wolfpack are tied 2-2...this is a good series.

Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and an assist vs Portland in Game 6 but the Wolfpack succumbed to the Pirates 5-4!!!

Brandon Dubinsky’s hockey season has finally ended, and “I’m just hanging out,” he says. “I have a few bumps and bruises that need to heal.”Dubinsky is spending time in Portland with his girlfriend of seven months, Melissa Lydell, and former billets Andy and Elaine Lord. He’ll return to his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, on June 14 and train to try to become one of the newest members of the New York Rangers.

The 20-year-old Dubinsky, after his season ended with the Portland Winter Hawks, signed with the Rangers and played in two playoff series with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, Hartford.

Funk was drafted by the Sabres and he seems ready to make a move up...Good luck Michael!!! And good luck Brandon!!! I wish he would come out to Kenai for a visit. I think Brandon can make the Rangers.
