The deal: Pay the $100, come here and let Brad Park, Terry O’Reilly and Gerry Cheevers (how’s that for name-dropping?) put you through a bunch of skill tests. Out of about 200, these Boston legends will ultimately get it down to three who will be invited to Bruins camp in September. Legit. A chance to make the team. Hey, who are the Bruins to snub their noses at anyone?

I saw this advertised a while back during a Bruins game (obviously) and went to the website to check it out. Sounds pretty cool in theory...can you imagine if one of the three finalists actually made it through camp?!

I saw this advertised somewhere too. Its something like "Knight School" which was on ESPN I assume. Anyone know where this would air?

To be aired on the New England Sports Network November 2006 through February 2007.

Which means I won't be seeing it...unless I move to the northeast...which would be about the time hades freezes over.

Upon arrival each will be shown a video of a current Boston Bruin demonstrating the eight (8) measurement skills which involve shooting, skating and stick handling drills. The on ice evaluations of the displayed skills will be strictly quantitative and objective. Players will be measured using their times with bonus points for accuracy. Goaltenders drills - 3 skating, 2 puckhanding and passing and 3 agility drills. Full equipment is necessary.

$100 to get your skills analyzed by pros, some priceless tips for your game, and the chance to join up with an NHL training camp? Pretty cheap, in my book. Great experience and it could give them a legitimate chance at a pro job, even if in the minors.

It is illegal to discriminate based on gender or age. This is why the Ducks are in the wrong by blatantly stating that Power Players have to be between the ages of 19 and 25. They can't prohibit older people from auditioning and they could be in a lot of trouble for asking birthdates. You can certainly post other qualifications, though.
