I'm just wondering on how much goalie equipment will cost me! For a fact as a goaltender it's the most expensive positioin if you have the $$$. Well I'm 16 years old will have a job in the summer time and am asking you guys on how much equipment will cost me. Can you give me a around/exact comparison? I'm 6''0/6''1, 150lbs and so far have $45 laugh.gif The reason I'm asking is because in the summer time my grand-father (ex-soccer player, one of the best in his division) is going to train me on the ice and on the road. So far I calculated that I may need around $700 or $1,000 dollars that I may not afford by or after summer time crazy.gif Do you think there are cheaper stuff that I could handle with all my size and stuff etc? Like I don't need all the "new" stuff that came out last year I may want soe of the older stuff. Eg: CCM, Itech, JOFO, Nike if you get the hint!

Opinions would be helpful lol!

Thanks!

well I'd say that $1000 should get you some 'good' second hand kit ether form a shop or off ebay, BUT I would strongly recomend that you try kit on before buying it.

As for kit, I'd say stay away from Bauer/nike mainly cause it's so expensive when you firsts set out, I have a set of vapors and their amazing just expensive! I have to say that I do like CCM as they seem to be good lasting. If I were you I would go for CCM or Vaughn.

If you need anymore help just PM

I get all my stuff from Play It Again Sports. They have them in alot of places, and I got goalie leg pads for $100, blocker for $65, Glove for $70, chest pad for $40 (it will probably be more for ice) and the pants are about $160. The cheapest skates are $150 tongue.gif And yes, you have to have goalie skates. I would get CCM. They run lower in price if you get some used ones. Reebok/Bauer/Jossa are REALLY expensive. CCM is very reliable. OH! And for a helmet, you need to make sure it is HECA approved. They should know what that means wink.gif Mine cost me $130, new tongue.gif

I was wondering what "unusual objects of art or pieces of bric-a-brac" PB was posting about in this Forum. I suppose goalie equipment could qualify as curios.
