Can we pin this?

In reaction to The Coyotes claiming Bryzgalov off of waivers, and 4 hours later having him lead Phoenix to a 1-0 shutout of the Kings.

Honest to god being a fan is like getting a perpetual kick in the nuts.

As happy as I am with the young players we have this is just maddening.

The crosstown rivals with the NHLs most pathetic fan base wins the Stanley Cup....thanks in large part to a horrible GM who I hated when he played against the Kings in the 80's.

The Kings lose the previous game to a guy drafted right after the Kings had not one chance...but two chances of drafting.

The Ducks put their backup on waivers just in time for the Kings other division rival to pick him up and play almost singlehandidly solving their goalie problem. It was almost a sure bet Bryz was going to get the shutout.

I dont even have to mention Parros.

The Kings inconsistent goalie actually has arguably his best game of the year only to be let down but a lethargic effort and only mild interesting in attempting to score by the rest of the team.

So basically you have the arch rival helping out a divisional opponent just in the nick of time to shut out the team.

Making matters worse the Quacks will probably get their best DMan back in December not to mention as of right now also have the overall #1 pick in what will be one of the better drafts in the last couple years.

Nut kick after Nut kick after Nut kick.
Im not sure if I should give up hockey altogther, jump on the Ducks bandwagon, or just cry....simply cry and whimper like a little girl who just had her chatty cathy doll stolen by the school bully.

Thanks, you made my day biggrin.gif clapping.gif

That was great!!! I love listening to the kings fans squeal for once. They rubbed it in our faces for more than a decade ever since the dawning of the Ducks franchise. It's time to stop sipping wine and eating cheese, it's time to GET IN THEIR FACES and TALK SOME TRASH!!! GODUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anaoa4.gif anaoa4.gif anaoa4.gif

I can't search for it now, but there are all kinds of rubbish they said after we won the cup.gif probably in the game 5 thread.

rolleyes.gif Thanks for copying my post and then not crediting me for finding it. [/sarcasm]
If you're going to create a thread for it, have some consideration and give credit where it's due. dry.gif
Duck304
I have some posts of a Detroit/Kings fan saying how there was no way the Ducks would beat Detroit, and then assuring everyone the Ducks would get killed by the Sens.

And then I tasted sweet Kings tears. It smelled like a Kings loss, which I smell a lot.
adamrice23
I just read a 5 page thread devoted to Duck fan bashing. They were saying things like "I bet there were no fans before 2003" and stuff like that, they don't realize that being a fan starts somewhere. It could be handed down from a parent, living in a city, moving into a city, a championship run that caught the attention of a city. I get really annoyed at people saying all Ducks fans are bandwagon fans. I think they don't realize that things like Gretzky grew their fan base.

Anyway, it is fun to look around at other boards, especially Edmonton although it almost makes me depressed just reading the doom and gloom stuff on there
Dutch Duck
I must say, even living in The Netherlands, the tears of Kings fans taste sweet biggrin.gif

But I don't get it, when I'm wearing my eggplant Mighty Ducks jersey on Hockey practice, I still get laughed at. While the boy in the Kings jersey is left alone. (Maybe it is because I can't skate and all the others can hmm.gif ) At least nowadays I can rebound with a Stanly Cup championship and two Conn Smythe Trophys! clapping.gif

Dude shut up!

You are ruining a perfectly good thread idea and you're only mad because you didn't make it into it's own thread in the first place.

Next time, if you are going to paste something from another board, credit the board or person who wrote it and then you can complain when someone doesn't credit you.

Seems like you're mad that someone stole a post that you originally stole yourself.
Todrick
i deleted my bitchy posts... i suggest everyone else do the same so we can have a quality thread here.

Dude, butt the hell out. I don't really care about the thread itself. Just some acknowledgement that I found it for the enjoyment of this board, not wrote it. I could've credited the Kings fan, but I doubt he/she would really want to be known as the author when Ducks fans are reading it--I was being considerate of the Kings fan here, not because I won't acknowledge when someone does something. Look at what the Kings fan wrote--if you were in his/her shoes, you wouldn't want to be known on Ducks boards either.

Next time, if you don't like what I write, ignore me. That way you won't complain and butt in when it's NOYDB.

It's EVERYONES business when you whine through a whole thread and act like a 10 year old girl that had their chatty cathy doll stolen!!!

And... I refuse to credit part of that line I just typed to the Kings fan or you.

"That's another fine mess we've gotten ourselves into." (apologies to Oliver Hardy)

This is an outstanding example of how not to start & conduct a thread. And how fitting it is that it was supposed to be about LA fans. laugh.gif

It can still be salvaged at this point, but you folks will have to put in some effort. Thanks to GS35 for originally finding the text, and Todrick for adding the credit.

Donno where this came from.

Some guy posted that he found it funny on myspace

I will preface this by saying that I am a Kings fan through and through. I bleed purple and yellow, and therefore, I HAVE to hate the Ducks. It is a requirement. That having been said, I also have to admit that I quite enjoy hating the Ducks. I enjoyed going to "The Pond" with my friends and all the other Kings fans when the two teams played each other and taking over the joint. My friends and I enjoyed ridiculing the team and their spoiled-rich, Orange County, faithless, heartless, "bandwagoner," Kariya-loving, pre-pubescent fans and making small children cry in the process. The Mighty Ducks were a mockery when they came into the league. I thought so in 1993 and I still think so.

Recently however, it's like they have been trying to distance themselves as much as they could from the teal and maroon atrocity that was their first incarnation. It's almost like they have grown up a little bit. They are no longer "Mighty," they are no longer connected to Disney, they play at the Honda Center, and they have changed their colors and logo to something more befitting a hockey club (in fact, the new sweaters kind of hark back to the more classic motifs). I do take small, and I emphasize the word small, comfort in these changes, but when it comes down to it, they are still the ducks, and I still HATE them.

I now have proof that there is no higher power governing our existence, or if there is, he/she/it has no liking for me. I know this because I pledged my soul to this entity for all eternity if they would only grant one wish. It's not even a really big wish like world peace or the Cubs winning the World Series or anything. My one wish was that the ducks would never win the Stanley Cup.

I am bitter. I will admit it. I make no bones about it, but that does not change the fact that the Ducks did not deserve to win the Stanley Cup yet. This is nothing against the quality players like Selanne, both Niedermeyers, Penner, etc., who played their hearts out to beat Minnesota, Vancouver, Detroit, and finally Ottawa. On the contrary, they deserve to be commended (except maybe Pronger, because he's such a dirty cheap-shot artist). It's that the Ducks franchise simply has not paid their dues, especially after their soulless start. They have no right to put their taint on the longest running trophy in professional sports with a rich history all its own, a trophy that predates the team by almost a century. Most of their fans don't deserve it either. They have not been tested. They have not had to endure the years of adversity or (perhaps worse) mediocrity. The term fan is short for Fanatic, and there just hasn't been enough time or strife to generate true fanaticism. They do not yet have the appropriate perspective to fully appreciate what their team winning the Stanley Cup means.

I am still a loyal Kings fan. I will not turn my back on my team during the lean years just to jump back on the bandwagon when things get good again like so many of those OC "so-called" fans did this year and in 2003 (I do also realize that there are a handful of Duck fans that have stayed loyal from the beginning, but it's only been 14 years? Come on, I have shoes older than that.). I still hate the ducks, perhaps more now than ever, but not because I HAVE too, but because what they have done goes against all that "should" be.

Clearly this idiot must be a PhD. eyebrow.gif
Why, you ask. We all know what BS means and MS, obviously is "More of the Same."
Thus it follows that PhD simply means "Piled Higher and Deeper." rolleyes.gif

And he/she should change his/her shoes more often ... or at least donate them to Goodwill. wink.gif

If this fan spent half the energy he uses towards posts like this hating the Ducks and their fans he might actually enjoy being a Kings fan.

For those of you Queen haters and Queen fan haters, straight from their board after their blowout/shutout loss to the Preds last night:

Your goalie’s so bad…

he's the Kings' backup
our goalie gets an epileptic seizure watching the red light go off behind your net
that a movie about his career is in the "horror" section
he thought the movie 300 was about him and his win percentage
he asks if he can switch his save percentage with the interest on his credit cards.
that $2 hookers make fun of his five hole
even the beach balls take the night off
his momma gets more work outta her pads than he does outta his
that when he stops at a red light he hangs his head in shame
the "shooter tutor" uses him to teach his kids
he uses a broom stick to sweep out all the pucks
The team would call up Dan Cloutier to only let in 5
the ushers have to change the goal lights between periods
your fans are punching THEMSELVES in the nuts
even Cloutier snickers to himself, saying, "I could have stopped that."

Cute. And i'm sure in your estimation the King Faithful are among the most devoted and kowledgeable in the entire sport. Newsflash, Duck fans have had to put up with these kind of insults and worse for years and mainly from fans up the freeway who don;t think we're worth the ice we skate on. Well now in the past five years we've become the team to beat in California and you guys are on the outside looking in. I'm not just talking about the Cup, i'm talking about the quality of our organization, and the lack of glitter on our jerseys. Deal with it. I'm sick of Kings fans who have nothing but trash to talk when it comes to the Ducks and then can't handle it when it comes right back at them.

I apologize if my post was more inflammatory than necessary, but the point stands. If you want to post on another team's board, and you want to to slam that team's fans, then you should be able to take whats thrown back at you.
